Really, podcasts can be used to acknowledge any for if information to any age of appropriate audience. Podcasting is a definitely a tool I would use as a teacher and as a future media specialists.
ReplyDeleteWell, I just wrote a really nice comment post and it would not allow it to go through so I lost it all!!!!
ReplyDeleteFirst off, I would like to say that this is a very informative post on Podcasting and gave me several ideas on how to use them in the K-12 setting.
I would like to do a lesson in my business classes and teach the students how to create podcasts for future assignments in my class. The students could use them to debate a business topic or to do a review of a current business issue. They could also create Podcasts in my Entrepreneurship class to describe their findings on a franchise they are interested in and everyone could watch these to find out about many franchise opportunities.
As a media specialist, I would love to use podcasts to teach patrons about how Accelerated Reader, the Dewey Decimal System and resources that are available in the Media Center. I could also do book reviews of 5 or 6 books at a time in a podcasts to get students interested in those books.
There are so many ideas of how to use them that I think I can find even more uses as time goes by. It is a great way for all students to become more comfortable with the current technologies available to all of us.
Thanks again for your blog posting. It is a very helpful one.

I love the simplicity of this blog! As a future media specialist and current teacher to see in black and white the options a Podcast can offer for my students/school is wonderful. This would be a great tool to use for new teachers who are coming in to get aquainted with the media center, what it has to offer, and the procedures.
